To all:

Next week on Thursday, May 10, 2007 we are having a one week session of the Raytheon Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) at the MMC.
This group of 60 Engineers from all the Raytheon Businesses meet every couple of months at a different Raytheon Location throughout the US to learn about the capabilities and other areas of each center. These are engineers within the first 3 years of their career at Raytheon and most of them recent college graduates.
As part of their activities for the week long meeting they do an afternoon community service event and their coordinator, Don Medeiros, had asked me about a trail walk and also about an opportunity for the team of 60 young people to come and help out with work needed to be done on the trails. So we obviously took the opportunity to use the help and get the trails ready for the season.

Now, we have a problem that we have 60 people and we need tools to be able to accomplish the required tasks. I am asking for help from all the members of the organization that could contribute and bring their tools so we can use them next week. I will ask that you write your names on them so we can return them to you after the event.

We already have 9 people committed to help out and lead the teams for the work to be performed. After the work party if finished then we would have a trail walk with the Raytheon leadership team and the ELDP participants through the trails to point out the historical and other facts of the site.

Tool that we need are:

Wheelbarrows
Shovels
Lapping and pruning shears
Hoes
Rakes
Pitch Forks
Picks

Please send me an e-mail (Edgar_I_Ortiz@Raytheon.com) with what you can contribute and so I can make a list of what tools belong to who. I would like to collected them at the entrance of the Tower Trail (by the Nimitz Building Water Tower). Don't forget to identify them with a permanent marker. Smaller tools I can collect and keep in my car.

Thanks for your help on this and
Have a Great Day!

We could use more tools! Keep these kids working! Please e-mail Edgar or Brenda if you have some tools you are willing to bring in Thursday May 10. Please mark with your name so you will be able to retrieve afterwards.

For those of you who have lend tools for the trail work tomorrow.
The work is scheduled from 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. so the tools should be ready for pick up right after the work day ends at the same spot. If there is any left over I will keep them there covered with the tarp until you pick them up, either Friday or next Monday. We do not have an internal place to store them.

Please contact me if you need any additional information.
