The Audubon Society of Rhode Island’s Environmental Education Center has scheduled its annual exhibit hall guide training sessions for 2009. The two- hour sessions will commence on Thursday, February 28 and run through the end of March. This seven session training will be led by Audubon educators at no cost to the participants. Upon completion of this program, individuals will be trained to lead tours of the exhibits and trails at the Environmental Education Center. A desire to learn about nature and meet interesting people is all that is required to participate in this training. Volunteers are needed for weekday afternoon and weekend shifts as well as to assist at special events. The Society is asking for an 8- hour commitment per month upon completion of the program. The scheduled dates for the training sessions are Saturday, February 28th, Thursday March 5th, 12th, and 19th. Saturday, March 21st; Thursday, March 26th, and Saturday, March 28th. The Thursday sessions are scheduled from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. The Saturday sessions will be held from 10:00 AM- noon. All sessions will be held at the Environmental Education Center, which is located at 1401 Hope Street in Bristol, RI. Light refreshments will be served.
